Are you worried about how the current bear market will affect your financial situation? I had the pleasure of chatting with Liam Austin of Entrepreneurs HQ about the FIRE community and what the current market conditions mean for folks in the FIRE movement.
I’ll be sharing my thoughts at the Million Dollar FIRE Summit (Special Market Crash Edition), on Thursday, April 9. It’s a free, virtual event, meaning you can tune in from anywhere. So, if you like to hear from me and four other FIRE/Personal Finance bloggers who I really like:
- Kevin Ha – Financial Panther
- Travis Hornsby – Student Loan Planner
- Michael Quan – Financially Alert
- “Cubert” – Abandoned Cubicle
… then head to

… and find out more.
Again, this is a free event but it does require registration. I don’t make any money from this event. I simply chatted with Liam because I feel passionate about personal finance.
I hope to see you there!
Stay safe
Karsten
PS: Some additional resources and posts I mentioned in the interview:
- Who’s Afraid of a Bear Market?

- It’s a Bear Market now, all right! But what kind of bear will it be?
- How can a drop in the stock market possibly be good for investors?
Uh…why is the password used for summit registration not confidential? The terms and conditions quite clearly indicate that passwords are shared with external parties. Do I understand them correctly?
2.2.4. [The customer] shall permit HeySummit or HeySummit’s designated auditor to audit the Services in order to establish the name and password of each Authorized user…

I was never asked for a password. Were you?
I was cautious to go any further when I saw the Terms and Conditions (T&C). But I just did and you’re right, no password is requested, probably because it’s a free event. That part of the T&C must be copy-paste from something else. Thanks! I’m in!
Do you know if this will be made available at a later date, e.g., podcast?
Very strange. It must be available at the time at the earliest but then available to be played at a later time/date. Otherwise, how can one watch 5 podcasts all at once?
So, I’m hopeful I can watch the other 4 podcasts with the other 4 bloggers I really like! 🙂
Yes. This is what Liam emailed me:
“Hi Karsten
The plan was to release them all at once.
But I’ve now adjusted the times so they each have their own time of release.
We’ve recorded these sessions so no need to be [there] live.”
I want the Panda Bear back. Lets call an apple an apple.
Yeah. Either Panda or Winnie the Pooh. 🙂
Excited for this event!
